Sheepskin: 'Golden Locks' (bark/fat tanned)

Sale Price:$290.00 Original Price:$325.00

Hand-tanned Churro breed sheep hide

(hide sources from a shepard outside of Bisbee, Arizona)

Tended with care and lots of time and attention

Tanned by hand using non-industrial methods, using emulsified fats, plant tannins and days of physical softening and preening.

This hide was washed three times and is clean but does still have some remnant debris (like bits of grass here and there)

Hair on this sheepskin has been kept as dreadlocks to maintain a unique texture and sectioning, but because of that, note again, there is some remaining debris. If you’re more outdoorsy or perhaps don’t want to be as precious with your hide, consider a slightly discounted one that’s not quite as groomed.

Hair on this hide has been dyed in varying degrees from the natural tannins used in the tanning process so varies from white to dark brown.

This said, the animal was alive and lived outside. This one like others, will have some remnant debris. Sheep hides, especially longer haired ones pick up debris when being used so you will be tending them for years to come.

machine washable in cold water and on cold setting in the dryer. Air dry to complete. You may want to re-oil the skin side after washing a few times to keep skin soft and pliable.

size: 40 inches long length and 25 inches width at widest section

A small shipping fee will be added when you check out but mainly shipping is included in the bulk of the price.
